so this isnt technecly related to being an exchange student.. but in a way your could connect it perfectly..
anyone whos ever seen the movie Crash , or anymovie that talks about diffrences ,between racism , cultural differences , the defferences between living on dffente sides of towns.. in different states ,., or differences between wearing a different style of clothing.. or having a different way of speaking ... any and all the differences in the world.. why doesnt just one adapt to them , open there minds to them.. embrass them instead of judging , discriminating , compairing , exclaming that one is better then another ..while in reality we arent at all soo different from one an other...
one thing that I defently learn from being an exchange student as well as a person whos moved around a few times in there life , is that society isnt at all that diferent from one place to an other.. I mean sure theres different languages ,but are heart all beats for the same reason ,, were all made of bloood and flesh arent we ¿¿ soo why the discrimination , why do we assume .
example . why does one assume the light skin girl must speak english ? personally at times I take that offencively , because I didnot always speak english , and im not about to forget my roots . why does one categories mexicans, ppl from spain , from , venezuela , argentina , peru , panama ,the magority of south america as Latinos. why becasue they all speak a from of spanish ? well then should they be considers spanish`people? why latinos ? because spanish evoled from latin ? well so did , fench , english and ever other romance language out there..
I understand that our cultures is part of our identity , but should that mean that we shouldnt be open to learing new things ¿' hear new ideas ?
I personaly have a real problem with patriotism , of any country for that matter , the US for example has the image of being cocky about our patriotism , and the fact that our country was .. is ¿? a world leader . one sohuld help one an other .. instead of exclaiming that there better , help the others giet to there level so to speak instead of looking down on them...
open your mind , and not hold gruges.. I guess is the point im trying to make.. imbracess abcept instead of judginng , and disrespecting. love over hate. equality.
